About Us
Founded on a dream in Cornwall, Ontario in 1979 by Rob and Barbara McIntosh, Rob
McIntosh China has now grown to be Canada's largest independent chain
of tableware and collectibles stores in Canada. The idea to create a big city
gift and tableware store with small town values and service has proven
to be tremendously popular. Today, Rob McIntosh China has 8 stores across
Canada including superstores in Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa. Rob McIntosh China was awarded the Socially Responsible Retailer of the
Year Award by the Retail Council of Canada for its contributions to Cancer Research
and was also voted the Eastern Canada Retailer of the Year by Canadian
Gift & Tableware Association.

McIntosh and his sister Christina Watts established McIntosh & Watts in
1906 as a tea and spice emporium. Over the decades, McIntosh & Watts evolved
into the China Hall of Ottawa that it is today. With over 90 years of
history, McIntosh & Watts is an intriguing part of Canada's and
Ottawa's retailing history and a pioneer in establishing the benchmark
for what a specialty china store should be. Winners of the Consumer's
Choice Award for outstanding Tableware & Gift Store for 1997, 1998, and
1999, McIntosh & Watts five Ottawa locations combine with Rob McIntosh
China to provide Canadian consumers with the best and brightest selection
of fine goods available conveniently across Canada and around the world
